So you’ve just got yourself a Denon DJ MCX8000 standalone DJ player and controller? This unit is a very capable piece of kit and is widely used by mobile DJs the world over.

First things first, let’s go through how to arrange your music collection and then you can discover how to master the basics and discover the more advanced features the MCX8000 has to offer. DJ and producer, D. Ramirez will take you through the steps of preparing your music and accessing it with your new DJ player.

Sidenote: This tutorial explains how to prepare you music using Denon DJ’s Engine software. A firmware upgrade for the MCX8000 has allowed this DJ player to make use of the more advanced Engine Prime software from Denon DJ. If you’re interested in finding out more information, please see other posts on our blog or take a look at our YouTube channel.

Now you’ve mastered how to prepare your music ready for playing with the MCX8000, perhaps you’d be interesting in going through the “First Steps with Engine 1.5” where you’ll discover some more features and functions of the standalone capability of this DJ player.
